When Our Yorkshire Farm first aired in 2018, it did more than introduce viewers to the Owen family's remote hill farm in the Yorkshire Dales. It offered a portrait of rural Britain that felt both timeless and increasingly rare: hard work, communal resilience, and a landscape that demands respect. Now, as the family returns to screens in Our Farm Next Door, the programme's enduring popularity raises a question worth considering. Why does public service television, at its best, still matter so much to British audiences?
What is the new series of Our Farm Next Door about?
The production company behind the series has confirmed that the new season will begin airing on Monday, October 5, on More4 at 9pm. Filmed across Winter 2025 and Spring 2026, the show follows the Owens as they continue the renovation of their new family home, Anty John's, with building work entering its third year. The synopsis promises a familiar mix of seasonal rhythms and personal discovery: unexpected new faces at Christmas, a busy Easter lambing season, Amanda's ongoing research into the history of Anty John's and the Clarkson family who once lived there, and Edith and her sisters preparing the cream tea van for its grand Summer opening.
